25th June 2013, departed from Sibu, after total of 2 months plus chilling around. One journey to Tioman at the near end of May, followed by a trip to Taiwan for a week time (perhaps separate blog entries for both journeys at another time). Then it was a short period of piano lessons at my piano teacher's house.
Receiving great blessing from God through churches members, teachers, my family members. It was of God's mercy that I am blessed abundantly, to not only possessed a scholar sponsorship, but were receiving more than I have expected. It was later that I learnt about a young man, in his 20's from Malaysia, having to bear much expenses here on his own. We were agreed that indeed the scholarship has lessen my burden, at least financially. Thanks God again for He works in His way! And I believe that He will have just the right plan for my "course-mates" from different countries, cultures, background etc, because each one is known by name in His thought.
Interesting story to tell, is about how I surprisingly get something great here! They eventually organized a Samaritan Centre, a place where you can go pick up something (mostly second hand), for free! I went there and guess what, I saw a guitar standing by a table at the Centre! Long story cut short, now the guitar is lying at the wall in my room! And did I mentioned that I got the hostel room to myself alone? It was quite a good room, facing recreation park, and strategically located on the 1st floor (so I do not need to climb all the steps up). Nice people meetup everywhere.
Well, if you want a "downside" part of the stories, I guess spending every pennies here is a round of calculation. It is Singapore Dollar, which is about 2.5 exchange rate to Malaysian Ringgit. Hence, generally expenses here is higher if you convert into Malaysian currency. Anyway, not going to bore you up with all the details. In general, I am quite contented with what I am having here, at least for now, haha!
Long way to go ahead, share some photos of my new room!
My cupboard with lots of empty spaces for my stuff. And my study table which is big enough for my laptop and workspace.
Single bed, quite hard in texture at first night, but am now used to.
The closet which is enough for all my clothes, with big spaces (upper part) to store my luggages.
Window facing the Upper Bukit Timah Recreational Park. Been able to see people going for evening walk.
The guitar I mentioned above.
Lots of gift from Orchard Road Presbyterian Church which ease our settlement here, which included collection of kitchen ware! Superb!
